Wedding of our dreams
We had looked at a few other places before we found Bateman’s Barn and none of them felt quite right. We visited Bateman’s and met Nicole and within about five minutes we knew it was the one.
My bridesmaids laughed at me on the morning of our wedding because I was so relaxed. I put this down to a few things, obviously I was marrying the man of my dreams but also, I had total faith in Nicole, I knew the day would go smoothly with her at the helm. She fills you with confidence. I’m a very anxious person and she made me feel totally at ease.
Another reason I was so calm was that the venue could not be more perfect for a wedding, the surroundings are beautiful, the layout just works, everything is nearby so it keeps the party together naturally, we had beautiful weather but even if it rained there would have been plenty of space and lots of places for people to hang out, not least of all the gorgeous wooden bar. I knew that even if everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, it wouldn’t matter because it’s impossible not to be happy at Bateman’s.
We brought in our own singing group and photographer but every other service we used came recommended by Nicole and John. They were all seamless accommodating and professional the whole way through the process and they made sure we got everything for the best price. The house DJ ran the dance floor with ease and incorporated all my odd requests. Bill brought his chip van at the end and everyone loved that. His prices are so reasonable and he’s just lovely. Our photographer Andy Kahumbu, has now found his way onto their recommended list which we’re so happy about and can’t recommend him enough!
There were so many lovely touches - the fire pit, the breakfast in the morning, the wood for the cake stand, being able to choose what beers/ales you want, the amazing accommodation, I could go on and on but you’ll just have to go and see for yourself.

A few words for Chloe Roos mum
I know that everyone was delighted with the experience from start to finish. Both Roo and Matt told me that their day was so much better than they had ever expected - how satisfying!
The barn is the perfect informal wedding venue, charming inside and out and, set alongside lovely garden, lawns, magnificent trees and within a working farm, surrounded by beautiful Suffolk scenery, it ticked all my boxes.
It is comfortable and relaxed, with different seating areas and spaces for folk to mingle and children to play. The recommended caterers provided the 'best wedding food ever' and very efficient table service.
Nicole and John have the perfect combination of efficient management mixed with helpfulness and good humour. Nicole assisted enormously with setting up the day before, providing everything we had forgotten and managing the smooth running of the event on the big day.
