We were fortunate to find this beautiful venue
We were actually lost on our way to another venue viewing, when we saw the signs for Bateman's Barn - so on the way back, we did a drive by and got a great feeling. We actually emailed to book a viewing from the car. And the rest, as they say, is history!
So much more than just a venue
We were married at the beautiful Bateman’s Barn in September 2022. But there, we found so much more than just a stunning venue - we discovered one-to-one support and inspiration from truly passionate people who were with us every step of the way, for the whole two years of planning our wedding.
We were welcomed to visit on many occasions - to discuss our ideas, try our decorations and this helped bring all our eclectic ideas into a coherent plan with a timetable. (So glad that Nicole suggested making our own pom-pom decorations too, so the colours were just a perfect match!)
Simply super suppliers
We had the freedom to create our special day and did so with the help of an amazing list of local suppliers, who were all fantastic. Most of our suppliers were picked from Nicole's recommended list and this meant a seamless, stress-free wedding from the first meeting to post-wedding breakfast.
We can highly recommend our truly talented photographer Hannah Hall, plus Funnells Kitchen - everything was delicious - the super cool DJ Justin from Music by Design, the Floral Sistas, The Iced vegan (cake), Amanda Steed (Hair and Makeup) and CMA hire for lovely place settings. They were all fabulous.
Married in the garden with Grace
We set our hearts on getting married outside with the lovely garden ceremony room, Grace, as our backdrop, but in the knowledge that we would be able to make the decision to go inside in case of rain even at the last minute.
Nicole had both spaces set up and was ready to move our flowers too. There’s a photo in our wedding album of a flower arrangement on legs - that’s Nicole! - constantly working behind the scenes and making the day seamless.
Every wedding needs a bit of weather luck and we got lucky - it was warm, sunny late summer and we had the most wonderful emotional and laughter filled day - from the nervous excited walk to get wed, to the final late night photos in the ruin.
Even when we thought there was nothing left to enjoy - when we had waved all our guests off home and we wandered back to the Hall and our big comfy bed - we found Nicole had arranged along the path all our candles to light the way. Such a lovely touch.
A place forever in our hearts
Nicole and John were as invested in and excited for our day as us and their level of passion, attention and service is second to none. As our plans developed, they had all the experience and know-how to make it a reality and were always full of ideas as to what we could do ourselves.
Thanks to the wonderful team and your beautiful venue for the best day ever. Bateman's Barn will forever have a place in our hearts.
