Best day of our lives - we can't praise it highly enough.
We could not have been happier with our wedding day at this beautiful venue.
We will always be so grateful to Nicole and John for all they did to help turn our eclectic mix of ideas into a coherent reality - from the small touches, like hanging broomsticks (Harry Potter theme!) with near-invisible fishing line so they really looked like they were flying(!) to being a reassuring presence and taking care of things behind the scenes on the set up day, and then all day at the wedding itself.
The grounds are beautiful and just the right size for guests to have plenty of room, without losing a sense of intimacy.
Charlie and Katie created a very personalised and unique day alongside some of our most trusted suppliers. They popped along to one of our Bateman's Barn Open Days where they had time to meet, chat and talk through ideas with Denise from Garden Gate Flowers, who created the most beautiful woodland themed backdrop for the barn and courtyard.
They had the idea to have some singing by the guests during their ceremony, so they worked closely with our local registrars and Scintillo Strings Quartet to accompany the guests through a fabulous rendition of Elton John’s 'Your Song'.
We had fun with little bits of Harry Potter theme. The catering was a mix of new and old, with daytime taken care of by Peter Harrison, and then Joe from The Fish Hut kept the evening guests happy with his fresh local fish which he picks up from fisherman in Southwold and the best crispy fluffy chips, delicious. Our fabulous house DJ, Justin from Music by Design, worked alongside a band new to us - The Upkicks - to create a dynamic and dance-packed evening. We also brought in some extra guest ales and Guinness to keep all the guests happy.

We could not have wished for a better day. The accommodation in the house, just a short walk from the barn, has a wonderful atmosphere. The barn is beautiful, and the local suppliers and the barn's own staff were great. We had the best day of our lives and couldn't praise it highly enough.
