One wonderful day...

Mary and Ollie said simply: “We had a wonderful day... and would recommend the venue to anyone. Thanks for all your help!”

Their parents noted… “Just to say a huge thank you for all your guidance and expertise in making Mary and Ollie’s wedding so brilliant. The venue is just fantastic and the wedding day was everything they wished for – the walk to the Minster and the fireworks made it extra special. “

Hosts, Nicole and John remember…
“It was a warm sunny August day. The guests arrived to a quick drink at the bar before setting out for walk through the meadows to our beautiful and very secret ruin in the woods.

We had mown a path for the guests to follow and Mary, Ollie and friends had decorated the route with lovely pictures and fun quotes so no one got lost!

We had set up some straw bales in a shady area and an old wooden door propped up on more bales made a great table from which we served some of our home pressed apple juice and Adnams Pink fizz.  Ollie and Mary supplied some pretty paper cups and straws, and hung some bunting between the trees as well. Guests had time to explore the ruin and take part in a fun quiz, with clues hidden around the clearing.

We then all made our way back to the barn, where guests were served with canapes and took part in a myriad of garden games, whilst the bride did a quick outfit change and then we all processed in to the barn for the wedding ceremony.

The reception took place in our covered courtyard which Ollie and Mary had decorated in the most fabulous bright colours and with reams of vintage bunting – all with a little help from us and their lovely families.

A great, relaxed feast of wood-fired pizza and paella from the every professional Bay Tree Pizza was  followed by strawberries, cream and selection of fresh donuts accompanied by French and Argentina wine.

More Pink Fizz was served to toast the speeches, then everyone retired to the garden to relax and enjoy the blazing fire, before strutting their stuff to their curiously quirky band, ‘Mick the Baker’.

At 10pm the couple cut their amazing cake - which Mary iced herself that morning! - and waltzed into their first dance of the evening.

To finish off an amazing and unique wedding day, we put on one of our fabulous in-house firework packages - an intense display of dramatic colours and impressive effects that danced and sparkled in the sky – a fittingly bright and lively tribute to this amazing couple!

Thank you, Mary and Ollie, for choosing our venue. It was a great privilege to host your unique and truly individual wedding day.
