COVID-19 FAQs I BATEMAN’S BARN WEDDING VENUE 

At Bateman’s Barn South Elmham we have put several policies in place in order to offer a COVID-secure venue, operating as Government-led restrictions will allow. We are keen to support wedding couples by adapting our wedding venue offer to fit around and in line with the restrictions. 

The sets of questions and answers below are a guide to current Bateman’s Barn COVID-19 policies and the changes we envisage with regards to operating the venue for the 2021 season.

We take the health and safety of all our clients, their guests and suppliers and our local team most seriously. We recognise that every one of us has responsibilities to each other. The continued operation of our services relies heavily on the cooperation and understanding of all parties involved.

BATEMAN’S BARN WEDDING VENUE I COVID-19 POLICY & CHANGES FOR 2021 SEASON

What extra cleaning measures/ facilities will be put in place?

• Our venue will be deep-cleaned before and between each event. 
• Hourly cleaning of routine touch points (door handles, door plates, door locks, loo seats and handles, light switches, taps etc.) 
• Hand sanitiser - provided at entry and exit points and around the venue.
• Signage – located to direct and help guests stay safe whilst at an event.  
• Venue QR codes - displayed for use with the NHS Test and Trace App.

What about PPE and social distancing?

• Outdoor licensed wedding area available, weather permitting.  
• All staff - to wear facemask at all times and adhere to 2m socially distancing. 
• Guests - to be guided to make use of outside areas as much as possible, weather permitting.  
• Guests in vulnerable groups – special reserved VIP areas available.  
• Bar area - safety screens in operation and a strict ‘4 guest’ policy in the bar at any given time (when restrictions allow).  
• Use of both the courtyard marquee and the barn provided for reception space, allowing an increase in guest numbers (restrictions permitting).

Is there anything I need to do before attending the wedding?

 • Please download the NHS Test and Trace App to your mobile phone.
 • Please stay at home if you are unwell.

What do I need to do about PPE and social distancing at the wedding?

 • Wear a face mask - at all times.
 • Maintain social distance - from anyone not in your household or bubble.
 • Scan our venue QR code on arrival.
 • Use hand sanitisers regularly.
 • Make use of outside areas as much as possible, weather permitting.
 • Adhere to on-site signage.
 • Please take your used PPE home with you.


CLIENTS I COVID-19 POLICY  - WEDDINGS AT BATEMAN’S BARN

Do I need to do anything with regards to COVID-security well in advance of my wedding?

• Provide a seating plan for the ceremony and/or reception, with social distancing restrictions applied, a week in advance of the event.
• Please download the NHS Test and Trace App to your mobile phone. 
• Advise and ensure that your guests also download the NHS Test and Trace App to their mobile phones. 
• Please be aware that you and any of your guests must stay at home at the time of the wedding if feeling unwell. 
• Make provision for or make sure that your guests all have face masks.
• Arrange the provision of confetti for your guests. Please note that this must be biodegradable and can only be used outside.
• Advise all suppliers who will be visiting or working at Bateman’s Barn during the preparations and / or celebrations for your wedding of the COVID Policy for Suppliers issued by Bateman’s Barn.
• Ensure that all all suppliers who will be visiting or working at Bateman’s Barn during the preparations and / or celebrations provide a copy of their COVID-19 policy to the venue.

What do I need to do about PPE and social distancing on the day?

• Please stay at home if you are unwell.
• Scan our QR codes on arrival.
• Wear a face mask at all times.
• Provide your guests with face masks if they arrive without one.
• Maintain social distance from anyone not in your household or bubble.
• Use hand sanitisers regularly.
• Make use of outside areas as much as possible, weather permitting.
• Adhere to on-site signage.
• Provide your guests with confetti.
• Please take your used PPE home with you.


ALL SUPPLIERS I COVID-19 POLICY - WEDDINGS AT BATEMAN’S BARN

What do I need to do with regards to COVID-security BEFORE delivering to, visiting or working at a wedding at Bateman’s Barn South Elmham?

• Prepare a personalised event COVID-19 safety plan for any services you are providing where you are required to break the 2m cordon (eg.serving food, applying make-up or styling hair etc.) to share with the client and venue.
• Provide a copy of your COVID-19 policy to Nicole Sanderson at the venue. This should be done a minimum of 14 days before attending the venue.
• Please download the NHS Test and Trace App to your mobile phone.
• Please stay at home if you are unwell.

What do I need to do about PPE and social distancing on the day of the event?

• Scan our relevant QR codes on arrival.
• Wear a face mask at all times.
• Maintain social distance from anyone not in your work bubble.
• Use hand sanitisers regularly.
• Make use of outside areas as much as possible, weather permitting.
• Follow and adhere to on-site signage
• Adhere to the personalised event COVID-19 safety plan already shared with the client and venue, for all services you are providing where you are required to break the 2m cordon (eg. serving food, applying make-up or styling hair etc).
• Please remove ALL USED PPE - used by yourself and your staff - from the venue.
